About the Journal

Archives of Operative Medicine (AOM) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by the BADE Institute. The journal is committed to advancing the field of operative medicine by publishing high-quality, evidence-based, and clinically relevant research. It aims to serve as a comprehensive platform for clinicians, surgeons, researchers, and healthcare professionals involved in the surgical sciences and related disciplines.

AOM publishes original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, case reports, brief reports, technical notes, clinical trials, and letters to the editor. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary studies and innovative methodologies that contribute to the understanding and advancement of operative procedures, techniques, and outcomes in medicine.

The journal follows a double-blind peer review process and is published triannually (three issues per year), in April, August, and December. All submissions are evaluated by at least two independent experts in the field to ensure scientific integrity, methodological rigor, and ethical compliance. The average time from submission to the first editorial decision is approximately 4 to 6 weeks.

Archives of Operative Medicine publishes articles exclusively in English and operates under a no article processing charges (APCs) policy. All published content is freely accessible to readers under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

The journal upholds the ethical standards and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). Research involving human participants or animals must comply with internationally accepted ethical principles and institutional approvals.

AOM is designed to align with the publishing criteria of prominent international indexing and abstracting services, and strives to meet their standards in terms of transparency, scientific quality, and editorial integrity.

We are committed to maintaining rigorous editorial practices, global accessibility, and scientific excellence. Our editorial board—comprising specialists from various regions and surgical disciplines—ensures the journal's international scope and academic credibility.
